Seattle Proposal Photographer // Molly & Luke

I am beyond thrilled to share this proposal story with you today as I am related to the bride!  Molly is my sister-in-law and it has been such a joy to watch her and Luke’s relationship grow over the past 5 years.  They met up at a camp called Lakeside Bible Camp and Luke saw Molly roll by on her unicycle and well, that was it!  Over the past 5 years they remained good friends, went to dances together and Luke was always the one by Molly’s side as often as he could be.  They ended up in Eastern Washington together at separate schools but close enough to see one another and FINALLY they made it “official”  after quite a long time of it being “unofficial”.

Last week I got a text message from Molly asking me about my availability in August of this year to which I responded….”WHHHAAAAATTTTT!!!!”.  Being the wise couple that they are, they had been chatting about different possibilities for getting married with their parents and made the decision it made the most sense to go ahead and get married this year!  Luke asked her dad for her hand and the next day I was at the house helping them pick a date and brainstorm venues and vendors!  But Luke hadn’t officially “popped the question yet”.  So while Molly was in the next room, him, his mom and I put together a plan and Luke went and bought a ring THAT DAY!  The next day we went to scout out what we thought would be the venue, and sure enough Molly said she was head over heels in love with the venue.  And so we sneakily got her and Luke to stand where later this year they will be pronounced husband and wife and Luke dropped to one knee.  As you’ll see below Molly was a bit surprised and a hand shot up to her face and tears filled her eyes.  She instantly grabbed the ring from the box and held onto it as Luke asked her to marry him, followed by “Is that a yes?!”.  Of course it was.

Luke and the family had also been secretly planning a little surprised engagement party with our family for later that night as well and so we got to surprise her with cake and sparkling cider and a little slideshow of the photos of the proposal and spend time chatting and dreaming together.  I cannot express how excited I am for their wedding!
