Winter Wedding Venues in Washington State //

Winter weddings in Washington State almost always mean having to plan for the potential for rain. This means brides are looking for indoor or covered venue options! After a brief search on Google I’ve discovered however that it is very hard to find a Winter Wedding Venue in Washington State. All of the venues that pop up are NOT indoor venues that can accommodate both an indoor ceremony and reception. Let alone some of them aren’t even open during the winter! So I’ve decided to help eliminate that issue and tell you some of my favorite Winter Wedding Venues in Washington State as a Seattle Wedding Photographer who has been to a few winter weddings.
Some tips I would recommend when looking for the perfect winter wedding venue:
- Look for the light. How dark is your venue going to be once the sun goes down? Does that fit the vibe of your wedding day?
- Is there space to have a ceremony, cocktail hour and reception without having to change over one of the rooms? If not, then at least make sure there is enough covered space for a ceremony and cocktail hour and then the ceremony site can be changed to fit the reception. In some cases the tables have to be set up in sight of the guests for the ceremony if it is a small venue.
- Do they have outdoor options and what are their rain plan guidelines? Do they let you decide the morning of your wedding if your ceremony is going to be inside or do you have to decide days in advance?
- Do they provide twinkle lights if you’ve seen them in photos or see them hanging – or are those provided by the client? Can you have an open flame with candles on the table for additional light or does it have to be battery operated lighting?
- What areas can you do couples portraits, family photos and wedding party photos? Or do you need to go offsite for these photos?
