The Meaningful Details Rentals // Vendor Feature

TheMeaningfulDetails_BLOG

I am so excited to be sharing another Vendor Feature on the blog today!  If you haven’t seen them before I usually feature a vendor at least once a month that is one of my favorite people in the industry in their field and have worked extensively with them previously.  And I HIGHLY recommend these amazing vendors!

Today I am featuring one of my favorite Seattle & Tacoma based vintage rental companies, The Meaningful Details.  I had the opportunity to find Dawn and her amazing company through social media and other photographers recommending her for a styled shoot I was planning!  I had the privilege of getting to come to her place and check out all of her amazing pieces and she helped me brainstorm the vision behind our styled shoot and pick out the perfect vintage pieces.  It seems everything has a story behind how she found it or even how it was built!  I highly recommend Dawn and using some of her gorgeous rentals to top off the design of your wedding or event!

Check out an interview with her below to learn more about her and her company!

How long have you been in business?
4 years!

Where are you located?
Our rental business is run from our home in Bonney Lake. We have so many fun items taking over our home, garage, cargo trailers….

What made you start your business?
Our daughter was married 5 years ago. We started collecting items for her wedding and the thought to offer our treasures to every bride was born!

What is your favorite part of owning your own business?
Definitely setting my own hours is a bonus as I care for my oldest grandson daily. But mostly the fun part of treasure hunting and purchasing items to be used for rentals.

Who is your ideal client?
Those clients that are excited with the wedding planning process! The dreaming and planning and even the mind changing. It’s all part of the process that happens just once in a lifetime! We love to be a part of the months leading up to the event and getting to share in this excitement!

Who inspires you in your creations?
What inspires me is my love for all things old and unique. When I find myself at an Estate Sale or Vintage Sale I look for those items that feel as though they have a story to tell. Treasures that has been loved and cherished by past generations. And to bring these treasures out of their hiding places and into the décor of an event for all to admire…That’s what inspires me!

Describe the process of what it looks like to work with you.
Our process is quite simple…First is the initial contact to see if the event date is open. If the date is open and rentals available, we always encourage new clients to set a time to stop by and view all in person. This is an important step to insure all will work with the client’s vision. Once the invoice is typed up and deposit taken, all rentals are secured. We have constant communication with our clients if any questions or concerns arise throughout the rental process and are proud of our flexibility to make changes to any rental order! We have had two daughters marry and feel this gives us a greater understanding and desire to do all that we can for our clients!

What is your favorite piece that you rent?
Oh Gosh I have so many it’s hard to choose! I think what I love most is the smaller vintage pieces… the vintage picture frames and vintage globes. The brass candlesticks and small glass bottles. These items are all so unique and add that pop of fun to events!

What’s the biggest trend you are seeing in vintage rentals?
Brass candlesticks are really trending right now! They are not just used for candles but as flower vessels. Place a bit of floral foam into the top of the candlestick, add a rose and tuck these throughout the venue. The gold catches reflection from the lights and the flowers are just added beauty! Easy, inexpensive, yet add so much to the décor!

What do you tell brides trying to save money by creating their own vintage pieces?
I wish I could tell every bride to look at rentals before they purchase décor pieces. Renting is a fraction of the cost of purchasing items themselves!

What makes your company unique?
One can visit the large rental companies to obtain chairs, tables, linens etc. But we are unique in the items we carry in our inventory. From rustic cake towers and risers, to vintage glass bottles and picture frames. But what truly makes us unique from larger companies is the love of helping others find their perfect rental piece! We seriously put our hearts into what we do! We have had past brides come back for their baby shower rental needs! And that speaks volumes to our hearts!

Who are some of your favorite vendors?
We’ve worked with so many amazing vendors! From venues to cupcakes that we couldn’t list them all! But by far the vendors we work closest with are the chalkboard artists…Julianne from “Something to Chalk About” and Dominque with “Chalk Artistry and Design”. Highly recommended!!

Where do you see your business going in the next 5 years?
We have such fun memories of our past clients looking at wine barrels in a cargo trailer by flashlight or sitting on our front room floor unwrapping totes of milk glass so they could hand pick the perfect pieces! But we definitely have our fingers crossed that our business will grow enough that we will one day have a shop to showcase our rental items! A place where all is out to be seen and touched and easy to pack up for events too!!
